The description of your project is actually tied into the Pages system.
Thus, to edit the description of your project, you merely have to edit the Main page of your project.
Click on the page on your project, and choose Page Actions -> Edit Page.
If you'd like to add a description that isn't English, what you should do is create a page (Project Actions -> Create Page) with the name Main and the language of your choice.

Karnifex Sun, 14 Sep 2008 15:32:12The "page" section can be found at the bottom of your project page, just under the "files" section. Here you can click on the "Main" link and go to a page with the elusive Page Actions menu at the top. Enjoy.

smcn Fri, 22 Aug 2008 06:09:31It's currently possible to delete your Main page, which has no effect on the actual project description. In addition, as part of an unrelated issue it is impossible to recreate the Main page after deletion. Already created a ticket.
